How to Become a Party Promoter

So you’ve decided you want to become a club promoter or party promoter?
Good. You will find it to be the most rewarding career move. And it’s something that you can do on your spare time and still earn a good income.
But first what’s the difference between a club promoter and party promoter?
There really is no difference. A club promoter is someone who promotes mainly clubs, bars, and lounges. A party promoter promotes all types of party events. Including, club events, rave parties, concerts, special event parties, or some other gigs.
So pretty much they both fall into one category. A promoter.
And as a promoter your main job is to get people to your event. Whatever it is.
But that’s not the only job description of a party promoter. You’ll have to manage a few extra things depending on the type of event you run.
Here’s a list of things that you might have to do:
Book a DJ, get your place setup, market your event, greet people at the door, build a list of customers (very important), hire a photographer, hire a doorman, and the list can go on.
Whoa?! You’re probably thinking, “I thought you said it was easy!”.
Truth be told it can be easy, but it takes a lot of hard work and determination.
However, you can simplify that list to a few things as you learn how to delegate smaller or harder tasks to someone else.
You see, you don’t have to do everything yourself. In fact, you can get started with free help. I’ll be posting that tip later on.
But if you want to get a head start on becoming a party promoter, then the best thing to do is to find a mentor or someone who can teach you.
This can be done by finding job postings for promoters. If you’re lucky you’ll find a promoter who will hire you to help with the street promotions, such as handing out fliers. And if they see you as a hard worker it’s possible that you’ll be shown the ropes around the business.
If there is no job posting for promoters, then call your local clubs, lounges, or bars and see if they have an in house promoter who is looking to hire help.
Another resource to utilize is finding a good party promoter’s home study course. These are usually packed with shortcuts and “real insider tips” to becoming a successful promoter.
