Most people think that being a club promoter is a fabulous job, but what they don’t realize is that there are also the negatives of being a club promoter.
Although, the job of being a club promoter is exciting and rewarding. It is also misunderstood by many people.
First and foremost, people think that a club promoter is simply someone who invites people to a party and earn tons of money while enjoying the party and drinking free drinks. This is not the case, because a club promoter has a big responsibility of ensuring that not only the night club is a well-attended place. But they have to mingle with the crowd, take photos, build a list, and more.
Since a club promoter works for a night club, it means that they have to stay awake all night to ensure that the people that they have invited have attended the event and are having a good time.
During the afternoons and evenings, club promoters are busy handing out posters and flyers for the event or the club that they are promoting. They also have to ensure that all the contacts in their network were invited to the event. And after a tiring day of sending out invitations, the club promoter needs to attend the party that they’ve been promoting to ensure that every contact they’ve invited have responded to their invitation. Thus, a club promoter doesn’t have enough time to rest especially during the preparation of a special event.
It is not very easy to be a club promoter because it will take some time before you will earn a ton of cash. Especially, if you are a newbie starting out. And having an established name greatly helps to get people to your events.
Aside from that, it is also hard to get clients especially if you do not have enough experience in terms of club promotion.
In club promotion, there are various ways to get paid, but for amateur club promoters, they usually get paid per person that they bring to the club. This may sound fine but actually there are some clubs that pay low compensation especially to amateur club promoters.
There are some club promoters who would only earn a measly amount of money despite inviting a lot of people.
For those who are new in the industry of club promotion, it is also difficult to gain clients or get good deals with club managers. Starting a club promoting business is quite hard at first because you have to overcome your fear when you are dealing with club owners or club managers.
Another skill that you will need to have is a strong public relations skills because club promoting requires dealing with different kinds of people. Therefore, if you do not have good public relations skills, you will have a hard time of being a club promoter.
However, with all that said you still can become a highly paid club promoter. One way of doing that is by having a mentor. Someone who has been in the game and can show you the ropes.
